After successfully completing the Member in Training (MIT) Program, you become an Active Member and participate on one of the many different League committees. Actives dedicate approximately ten hours a month to their committee. Active Members attend General Meetings, volunteer for our one-time or ongoing community programs, and training workshops. Active Members also work at the various League Fundraisers. The JLMC supports a variety of community programs that are located within Martin County. The Community Program Research committee within the JLMC conducts research and analysis on local community agencies to determine partnerships that would be most suitable for JLMC members based on our focus area and volunteer opportunities at the agency. A slate of community programs is then presented to the JLMC Board and Membership for vote. All Active Members are required to fulfill the following requirements: 1. Payment of annual dues in the spring. 2. Placement on a JLMC committee and completion of all committee requirements. 3. Purchase of at least one Pineapple Ball ticket. 4. A minimum of three volunteer hours at events for The Children's Museum. Additional hours to be volunteered at the discretion of each member. |
