JLMC Signature Project

Located in Jensen Beach at Indian RiverSide Park, The Children's Museum of the
Treasure Coast (TCM) will be a 10,000 square foot facility and provide children and their
families a safe, fun environment to learn through play.

The Children's Museum will offer hands on activities, educational programs, and be a safe
and fun environment for children. Located at Indian Riverside Park, the museum exhibits
may include a weather science lab, Indian Encampment, theater, Grandparents wing, and
Spanish Treasure ship. The museum will be designed for permanent and traveling
exhibits, galleries, private party areas, etc. The first phase is scheduled to open late
2007/early 2008. Next is the long, rectangular part with the toddler area, the "Our Town"
and the "Cracker House". The Explorer's Wing with the Ship, Indian Encampment and
Bathysphere will be open in 2008. Commitment to end on May 31, 2009.

JLMC volunteers are currently working on the following:

Publicity
An awareness campaign for TCM, which includes the drafting and distribution of their
newsletter, ChildsPlay.

Traveling Exhibits
The JLMC has developed the following traveling exhibits:

> Dig It!
Focuses on archaeological findings of local indigenous communities. This exhibit is
currently presented to local fourth grade classes.

> Be Fit Circus
Presents information on health and exercise in a circus-themed format that is
accessible to children. This exhibit is currently presented in conjunction with other
community projects, such as Family Nights at Gertrude Walden Child Care Center.


Families Accessing Cultural Experiences (FACES)
The JLMC assists with the FACES program. This program will ensure scholarships for all
activities and free entrance programs based on financial need.
